Pro-Choice Washington Foundation, our 501(c)3, provides the majority of funding for our day-to-day operations as well as member mobilization, constituent and lawmaker education, research, public policy education, and grassroots advocacy. Contributions to the 501(c)3 are tax deductible. In addition to cash, credit card, check, and mobile pay, there are several ways to maximize your gifts and your financial benefits.
Amplify your giving with Workplace Matching
An estimated 80 percent of donors miss out on eligible matching opportunities. Check if your gift is eligible for a match below. Type your workplace in the search bar and click “Go to Matching Gift Form” to double or triple your impact instantly. Please be sure to fill out the necessary forms through your employer.
Employer matching programs also often allow you to designate a donation directly from your paycheck and match your volunteer hours with a dollar donation. If your employer offers these giving options, select ‘Pro-Choice Washington Foundation’ from your company’s listing of eligible nonprofit organizations.
Give from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Donor Advised Funds are an increasingly popular way to give, and they are the easiest way to give appreciated assets like stock. To make a gift, contact your DAF administrator and recommend that a grant be made in any amount to support Pro-Choice Washington Foundation. You can work directly with your DAF advisor portal and/or with DAF Direct. When you make a DAF gift, it is possible that the sponsoring organization will not share your information with us. Please send us a note if you make a DAF gift, so we can be sure to thank you.
Join our Legacy Circle
If you are retired or are making plans for the future, join a powerful community of supporters that are investing in the future of reproductive freedom in Washington. The Legacy Circle, our planned giving society, is a community of thoughtful supporters who are making a multi-generation impact by ensuring that every person is able to access all reproductive health options. If you would like to join our Legacy Circle or make a planned gift, please complete this form and email it to us at email@example.com.
By giving appreciated assets like stocks, your donation could be worth almost 20% more than a cash donation. And a donation of stock allows you to deduct the full market value of the stock from your taxable income. If you would like to donate appreciated stock to Pro-Choice Washington Foundation, you can visit www.stockdonator.com, click “Donate Now”, “Donate Online”, and select Pro-Choice Washington from the dropdown menu. Or you can complete and return this document to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Make a Bequest
You can designate Pro-Choice Washington Foundation as the beneficiary of your asset by will, trust, life insurance, or beneficiary designation form. This is one of the easiest and most flexible ways that you can leave a lasting and impactful gift for reproductive freedom. Contact your attorney or life insurance provider to learn more about this process. Here is sample language for reference.
“I give (insert dollar amount, percentage of the estate, or “the remainder of my estate”) to Pro-Choice Washington Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, located at 811 1st Ave #675, Seattle, WA 98104 for its general use and purposes. Pro-Choice Washington Foundation’s tax identification number is 91-1353222.”
Give through your IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
If you are 70 and a half years old or older, you can donate up to $100,000 to Pro-Choice Washington Foundation directly from your IRA, without treating the distribution as taxable income. You can designate Pro-Choice Washington Foundation as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift to Pro-Choice Washington Foundation from your IRA. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
