What is the Pro-Choice Washington PAC?
The Pro-Choice Washington PAC oversees our candidate endorsement process. PAC members interview, evaluate, and endorse reproductive freedom candidates at all levels of state and local government. This includes the state legislative office, state executive office, and county and city offices.
The PAC donates to priority candidates, and coordinates a robust field effort, including door-knocking and phone calls with our organizing staff. Once candidates are elected, Pro-Choice Washington’s 501c(3) and 501c(4) arms work with these leaders at the state and municipal level to pass policies that protect and promote access to reproductive freedom for communities across the state.
Why support the Pro-Choice Washington PAC?
All PAC contributions directly support pro-choice candidates in Washington. By donating to champion candidates through our PAC, you send a strong message about the importance of a candidates’ leadership on reproductive freedom issues. Our PAC consistently spends down the funds it raises each two-year cycle, making sustaining gifts especially valuable in helping us to achieve these goals.
How has the Pro-Choice Washington PAC impacted reproductive freedom?
Between 2017 and 2020, the Pro-Choice Washington PAC has helped grow progressive majorities in the Washington State legislature by 11 seats, adding four seats in the Senate and seven in the House. This includes the pivotal 2017 special election, in which the election of Senator Manka Dhingra flipped control of the State Senate to a pro-choice majority for the first time in five years. In the last four years, we have called or door-knocked over 65,000 Washington voters and contributed more than $57,000 to priority races.
