Organizing Director
Sarah Dixit (she/hers) joined Pro-Choice Washington in June 2023, eager to continue her commitment to organizing and advocacy for reproductive freedom and systemic change in Washington state and beyond. She comes to the organization with over five years of experience organizing in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Sarah is passionate about expanding Pro-Choice Washington’s impact east of the Cascades. She believes in collective liberation and the power of multiracial, intergenerational solidarity to create change.
Born and raised in Southern California in an Indian immigrant household, Sarah moved to Spokane in 2014 to attend Whitworth University. While on campus, she received her B.A. in Sociology and founded a chapter of Generation Action, a Planned Parenthood college organizing program. Soon after graduation, she began organizing full-time with Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho (PPGWNI). In this role, she was vital in gathering evidence on the extremist group, The Church at Planned Parenthood (TCAPP), which aided in the successful lawsuit against them. Throughout the pandemic, Sarah provided sex education for high schools in the Spokane region.
Alongside her work in reproductive rights, Sarah co-chairs and is the board president of Asians for Collective Liberation, an Asian advocacy organization based in Spokane, WA, and is the Chair of the Equity Subcommittee for the Spokane City Council.
