Communications Director
Ryan MacDonald (he/him) joined Pro-Choice Washington in September 2022, led by his passion for centering the voices of individuals and communities that have been marginalized by mainstream policies and legislation. He believes that storytelling can build community and foster compassion for others, particularly around abortion.
Ryan brings over a decade of experience making and crafting stories in various forms. From television series and documentary films to podcasts and print narratives, he has worked across the media spectrum. Ryan began his career as a journalist, writing for The Advocate magazine, helping report on the judicial rulings and legislation that helped pave the way for legalizing same-sex marriage. Prior to joining Pro-Choice Washington, he worked for Microsoft and Netflix, producing and editing videos, digital content, and episodic narratives.
With family and friends living throughout Eastern Washington and Idaho, Ryan is looking forward to working with folks from around the Inland Northwest, helping them share their stories and personal histories.
