Position Summary
Pro-Choice Washington seeks one fellow to join our organizing and field team this summer. Fellows will participate in candidate fieldwork for key 2023 municipal-level elections in key races in priority municipalities for abortion access.
About Us
Pro-Choice Washington is the only independent grassroots advocacy organization for reproductive freedom in Washington state. We believe every person deserves equitable access to affordable, unbiased, quality reproductive and abortion healthcare within their community. Our organization is powered by the voices of more than 32,000 supporters across the state who are speaking up for reproductive rights through advocacy, community engagement, and education.
Pro-Choice Washington’s issue areas include ending discriminatory denials to reproductive healthcare, expanding abortion and contraception access for historically excluded communities, raising awareness and funding for equitable abortion and reproductive healthcare, and revitalizing the reproductive freedom movement to be more inclusive and reflective of community needs.
Our organization is powered by the voices of more than 25,000 members across the state who are speaking up for reproductive rights through advocacy, community engagement, and education. You can learn more about our organization at prochoicewashington.org.
About the Program
This is a critical moment for abortion rights and access in the United States. The recent federal ruling on medication abortion coupled with the rise of abortion restrictions anti-LGBTQIA+ laws across the country have made it clear that the anti-abortion movement will stop at nothing to dismantle reproductive freedom for our communities. These rollbacks of fundamental rights to bodily autonomy underscore how important it is to elect unapologetic, intersectional champions for reproductive freedom who will protect, restore and expand access to abortion and gender affirming care in Washington. If you are ready to get involved with building political power to keep Washington an abortion sanctuary state, please apply for our 2023 Organizing and Campaigns Fellowship.
Fellows will engage in community organizing to connect Pro-Choice Washington volunteers with local candidates, educate them on the importance of local-level races for abortion access, and create pathways for volunteers to engage in field work throughout the primary and general election season. Finally, fellows will conduct research to support Pro-Choice Washington’s priorities and work on a collaborative project that aligns with the fellow’s interests and Pro-Choice Washington’s priorities.
Fellows will conduct research and work on a collaborative project that aligns with the fellow’s interests and Pro-Choice Washington’s priorities.
