NARAL PRO-CHOICE WASHINGTON STRONGLY ENDORSES INGRID ANDERSON FOR STATE SENATE IN THE 5TH LD
Washington — Amid a public health crisis, we need a leader in the State Senate who knows the gravity of this crisis and healthcare issues firsthand. Ingrid Anderson is the reproductive freedom champion from the 5th LD that will best represent these concerns in Olympia.
A misleading mailer sent out in support of Senator Mark Mullet implies that he received NARAL Pro-Choice Washington’s endorsement for this campaign. We are setting the record straight: Ingrid Anderson is the only NARAL-endorsed candidate in this race.
NARAL Pro-Choice Washington stands with dozens of progressive partners in our endorsement of Ingrid Anderson. She is the champion we need to represent patients and families in Olympia. Ingrid has demonstrated the urgency and expertise required to be an impactful and proactive leader for reproductive freedom in the Washington State Legislature. With a confirmation vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee for Amy Coney Barrett taking place this Thursday, reproductive freedom is on the line now more than ever. In the coming months, the Washington State Legislature will continue to respond to the ongoing public health crisis, address religious-restrictions to reproductive healthcare, and take on progressive revenue.
Anderson is currently a registered nurse at Overlake Hospital and has a background in emergency medicine, psychiatric health, and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Ingrid has been on the front lines of Washington’s healthcare system, working to help community members access the compassionate care they deserve. As State Senator, she will fight to protect survivors, advocate for patient safety, and close the existing gaps in healthcare coverage to ensure all Washingtonians can access the reproductive health service they need.
In its core focus on pro-choice values, this mailer makes clear how important reproductive freedom is to voters in the 5th Legislative District. As such, Ingrid Anderson is the reproductive freedom champion we need in office representing the 5th Legislative District.
