In 2026, to simply exist within a human body means to live in fear.
Fear that you’ll be denied the healthcare you need because you got laid off and your insurance premiums have tripled. Fear that even if you can receive care, you won’t survive because of health care staffing shortages. Fear that bias and discrimination will make even a routine hospital stay a life-or-death gamble. Fear that your immunocompromised child, partner, or parent will die unnecessarily because of the government’s negligent dismissal of lifesaving vaccines.
And perhaps, most appallingly, fear that if you are pregnant and don’t want to be, you’ll be forced to give birth anyway.
This is the world we live in, and this is why I’m committed to advancing Pro-Choice Washington’s mission.
Our work ensures every person has equitable access to affordable, unbiased, quality abortion and reproductive healthcare within their community. Because living in fear is not an option, and the staff at Pro-Choice Washington are fighting back.
Pro-Choice Washington advocates for legislation that protects reproductive freedom, privacy, and equity across the northwest.
They’re also helping to elect reproductive freedom champions at the city, county, and state levels. And they’re creating resources that ensure more people have the information they need to make decisions about their own bodies.

I know I’m not alone in feeling this fear, and I know I’m not alone in refusing to let it win. This January, I joined over 30 community members at Pro-Choice Washington’s Lobby Day in Olympia, and I felt the power of collective action and the reassurance that a better future is possible.
If you’re looking for a way to channel your anxiety and grief into something meaningful, join me. Support Pro-Choice Washington with a donation, sign up for the Legislative Action Team, or share this message with your community. Together, we’re stronger than our fear—and we’re not backing down.
This work takes persistence, energy, vigilance, and all of us. Please join me in supporting Pro-Choice Washington today.
