Finding abortion care can be overwhelming. Especially if you live in a state where care is banned.
This week we learned about Carbondale, Illinois, a liberal city where three clinics provided more than 11,000 abortions last year, largely for patients forced to travel from states with bans. It’s one example of a reality we see across the country: thousands of people crossing state lines in search of safe, accessible care.
But even when someone reaches a supportive community, knowing where to turn for trusted, vetted information can still be a barrier.
That’s why our fellows and staff created our newest resource: the Abortion Access Guide.
Designed with the patient experience at the center, this guide offers clear, step-by-step information for anyone seeking abortion care. Every program, clinic, and website included has been reviewed by providers and trusted partners to ensure reliability.
And now, the Abortion Access Guide is available in Chinese, Vietnamese, and Spanish, expanding access for communities across our region who often face additional language barriers. We’re proud of this progress, and we’re committed to continuing to grow!

As the Pro-Choice Washington team closes another year of advocacy, we’re reflecting on how much your partnership means to us, especially right now.
We’re working to keep Washington a true safe haven for reproductive health care and to protect the privacy and dignity of everyone who lives here or travels here for care.
Thank you for being in this fight with us.
