Hello my Gen-X sisters, brothers, and siblings!
Back when I was a new, repro do-gooder in the 90’s, my older colleagues viewed our Gen-X contingent with some skepticism, as we had grown up under Roe and hadn’t known a world where abortion wasn’t accessible.
Now I work at Pro-Choice Washington (formerly NARAL-WA) with millennial and Gen-Z colleagues who are similarly skeptical, having lost the protections we and previous generations fought for, and believed were guaranteed long ago.

My teammates (like Government Relations Director Gabbi Nazari) remain undeterred and are absolutely crushing it. Everyone is working so hard to safeguard our state as a reproductive rights sanctuary for Washingtonians and all who travel here for care.
I feel mildly competitive about showing up and having my generation’s voice heard (I know, that’s so Gen-X of me), but I truly just want to fuel this fight.
In Olympia next month, we’ll be focused on strengthening shield laws to protect providers from out-of-state vigilante prosecution, pushing back against harmful restrictions and data surveillance of care-seekers, and restoring funding for clinics.
I want to send our staff into the upcoming legislative session with resources to make an impact. Region-wide, Pro-Choice Washington will be working to ensure access and privacy for all, including making sure Idahoans and folks living in rural, remote, tribal, and immigrant communities know how they can access abortion, focusing on areas where there is no abortion care because of hospitals with discriminatory restrictions to care.
I hope you will join me in standing up for reproductive rights, abortion access, privacy, dignity, and freedom! A donor recently sent me a note that said, “Get those f**kers!” along with her check.
You can do that too! Let’s get them together!
P.S. You can give to our sister organization, Pro-Choice Washington Foundation, if you prefer to make a tax-deductible gift or give via a DAF or appreciated assets. ♥️
