At a time when reproductive healthcare access is under relentless attack, Pro-Choice Washington is investing in the next generation of leaders who will defend it.
Twice annually, we welcome emerging leaders to our team who will help shape the future of our organization and our place in the reproductive health care movement through grassroots advocacy and legislative activism.
What is the Pro-Choice Washington fellowship?
Established in 1999, the Joyce Winsor Memorial Endowment Fund provides a unique opportunity to fellows who are interested in assisting and furthering the mission of Pro-Choice Washington.
Because of Winsor’s legacy, our fellows receive real life experience by working on everyday projects and then conclude their fellowship with a keystone project. Previous projects include the Abortion Access Guide, How to Talk About Abortion Guide, and the Self-Managed Abortion awareness campaign.
This year, we’re excited to introduce our newest class of Pro-Choice Washington fellows, Giovanny Rosario and Keira Murphy. Get to know them more below!
Meet the Fellows

Giovanny Rosario (he/him) was born and raised in Central Washington. Since an early age, he has been politically engaged in his community but took his activism to a new level when he became involved with NCW Young Voters holding policy forums and candidate debates in 2020. Giovanny has worked with The Washington Bus, Fuse Washington, No Hate in Washington State and other advocacy groups in the Pacific Northwest as a Field and Campus Organizer.
As the 2026 Legislative Advocacy and Lobby Day Fellow, Giovanny is excited to be working on mapping abortion deserts in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. His goal is to examine geographic, social, and structural barriers that limit access to reproductive healthcare in rural areas.
Giovanny hopes his project can highlight the reproductive healthcare disparities that many rural and minority communities face, and he looks forward to engaging with his community as he delves into his research.

Keira Murphy (she/her) joined Pro-Choice Washington in January of 2026 as a Digital Campaigns Fellow and is thrilled to be sharing her passion for universal reproductive justice and bodily autonomy through Pro-Choice Washington’s digital multimedia projects.
Born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Keira is deeply motivated by the power of civic engagement and organizing on every level. A current senior at the University of Washington studying English and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies, Keira brings work grounded in strong feminist analysis and written communication to Pro-Choice Washington.
In addition to her work with Pro-Choice Washington, Keira serves as the Secretary for Huskies for Reproductive Freedom (H4RF), the organization’s student chapter on the UW campus. Through H4RF, she has participated in legislative advocacy, campus resource distribution, email and social media campaigning, and collaborative event planning.
Some of her favorite projects include coordinating an annual reproductive justice-themed trivia fundraiser, her zine-making work with the art activism committee, and supporting a comprehensive sex-ed panel on campus. Her experience with H4RF has continually affirmed her belief in the immense value of organizing in community and the power that can come out of locally based work with passionate and supportive individuals.
Outside of her organizing and academic work, Keira is an avid reader, music lover, and junk-journaler. She loves spending time outside and traveling—and is currently on a quest to travel to every U.S. state.
