Laurie Jinkins serves as a member of the Washington House of Representatives from the 27th district. She was elected in 2010 to succeed Dennis Flannigan and took office on January 2011. She has supported reproductive health legislation this year by co-sponsoring the Reproductive Health Access for All Act (HB 1612), the Protecting Patient Care Act (HB 1638), and the Strengthen the Healthy Youth Act (HB 1407). In July 2019, she was voted in to become the first woman Speaker of the House in Washington State.
