We are growing a network of activists in communities, universities, and high schools across the state. See if there is a group in your area or start one yourself.
University and College Campus Programs
Pro-Choice Washington recognizes the power and importance of young people’s voices in the reproductive freedom movement. Our University and College Campus programs support the leadership of student activists across the state.
Huskies for Reproductive Freedom at the University of Washington and Cougs for Reproductive Freedom at Washington State University Pullman and Washington State University Vancouver bring together students to take local action for reproductive freedom in their own communities. Their activities include organizing events to educate their peers, activating voters, hosting lawmakers and local leaders on campus, and advocating to increase access to health services like contraception and abortion.
Join or start a Pro-Choice Washington campus chapter at your school to connect with like-minded students! You can affect real change in your community and gain valuable political experience – all while advancing reproductive freedom!

High School Programs
Students United for Reproductive Freedom (SURF) is a student-led action committee for young people across Washington state to advocate for the issues that matter to them most. SURF informs students of their reproductive rights and freedoms, and is committed to engaging new voices.
Our High School chapters hold regular meetings and events to create dialogue about political priorities, build activist skills, share information, and take collective action to advance reproductive freedom. SURF offers a powerful way to affect real change in your community and to gain valuable political and organizing experience.
Are you a high school student interested in taking action to protect reproductive freedom? Join SURF or start something of your own!

Regional Programs
The Troublemakers are regional activist groups that work in tandem with Pro-Choice Washington to expand and strengthen reproductive freedom for all in Washington state. Their activism includes writing and calling legislators, supporting candidates with canvasses and phonebanks, and hosting events that inform, inspire, and motivate fellow volunteers to take action in their own communities.
“I was looking for a local leadership role centered on expanding reproductive freedom and the opportunity to help cultivate a community of individuals committed to taking action. I love that Troublemakers is focused on education and action, and the team leadership style works for my busy schedule!”
Stephanie Budrus, North Seattle Troublemakers founding member
