NARAL Pro-Choice Washington Board Opportunity!
Are you interested in doing more than participating in marches, contacting legislators, and donating to progressive causes that protect women’s rights? Join the board of NARAL Pro-Choice Washington to make a real difference in the lives of womxn and families in Washington State!
We are now accepting applications for volunteer board members from all four corners of the state who are passionate about reproductive freedom and recognize that every person should be able to make personal decisions about – and have access to – the full range of reproductive health options.
NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and creating a movement in which every individual is welcomed and valued. We strive to ensure our board reflects the diversity of our state including across race, income, immigrant status and gender identity.
As the leading grassroots pro-choice advocacy organization in the state, we are at the front lines of advocacy work, public awareness, and voter outreach. We aim to protect every person’s fundamental right to access all reproductive health options, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is the state affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America.
We are looking for people who will commit to:
- Participating in Board meetings every other month
- Actively serving on one of our committees: Board Governance & Engagement, Fundraising & Events, Finance, or Political Action Committee
- Advocating for the reproductive health needs of people throughout Washington State
- Learning more about reproductive freedom and its intersection with racial equity and social justice
- Making a financial contribution to the organization that is a stretch, personally significant, and meaningful to you.
We are especially seeking new members with experience in: (1) finance and accounting, who can help stand up a Finance Committee to guide, oversee, and support the financial practices of the organization and (2) racial equity and anti-racism initiatives, who can support the development of our racial equity action plan.
Time commitment typically ranges from 5-8 hours per month depending on committee work.
If you are ready to work for Washington State womxn and families in a high impact and strategic way, please submit a letter of interest and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than May 31, 2019. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
