The Regional Organizing Coordinator position will help build political power to protect and expand abortion access in the Northwest Washington and North Puget Sound regions (Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, and portions of King counties) and across the state by engaging and cultivating Pro-Choice Washington’s base of grassroots supporters and members in the Northwest Washington and North Puget Sound regions. They will support and expand Pro-Choice Washington’s student and community activist chapters in the region and mobilize Pro-Choice Washington’s broader network to take political and advocacy actions. The work of the Regional Organizer will help to achieve clear and relevant political wins.
The Regional Organizing Coordinator will work with the Organizing Director and Executive Director to identify, build, and strengthen community partnerships, design and implement activist leadership development programs and programs that support activist leaders’ goals, and facilitate network engagement with regular electoral and legislative activities.
A successful Regional Organizing Coordinator will be excited to be creative while strengthening existing partnerships and developing activist leaders. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Community Building
- Create inclusive community spaces by organizing consistent programming and accessible community events where Pro-Choice Washington members can connect, learn, and take collective action.
- Represent Pro-Choice Washington at local community events to build trust, connect with, and recruit new community members to get involved with Pro-Choice Washington’s advocacy work.
- Support and coordinate Pro-Choice Washington’s youth leadership programs, including internship, campus, and high school programs.
- In collaboration with the Organizing Director create robust and relevant educational programming events related to reproductive freedom and Pro-Choice Washington’s racial justice and equity goals for local activists.
- Build Pro-Choice Washington’s base of engaged volunteers and local activist leaders by identifying and regularly engaging local activists, sharing guidance and resources on Pro-Choice Washington’s messaging and priorities, and identifying and coordinating meaningful opportunities for action.
- Communicate regularly with local Pro-Choice Washington activist members by email,
- Support local activists to develop their leadership in the reproductive freedom movement through education, advocacy, and civic engagement.
- Help to mobilize members to participate in community events, like Conversations for Change and local events.
Political Impact
- Mobilize members to participate in legislative and electoral activities like Advocacy Week, in-district meetings, events, door-to-door canvasses, phonebanks, and text banks.
- Identify opportunities to respectfully collect and uplift the experiences and stories of members to raise awareness and to support communications and development departments.
- Create and/or support the development of educational resources, including activist guides, issue briefs, toolkits, and one-pagers.
- Other tasks as required.
General
- Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting processes.
- Support Pro-Choice Washington events in collaboration with other staff, by facilitating registration, logistics, and materials.
- Support activists’ fundraising activities and mobilize activists for fundraising events.
- Support Pro-Choice Washington’s goals by supporting other team members.

- Demonstrated success at cultivating and sustaining respectful, authentic relationships with a wide range of diverse stakeholders, while centering values of collaboration, empathy, and direct communication.
- Passion for directly and confidently engaging with voters, volunteers, legislators, and others through face-to-face conversations, public events, phone banks, and virtual events, etc.
- A minimum of two years of experience in organizing volunteers or activists on issue-based or electoral campaigns.
- Interest in mentoring staff and volunteers.
- Self-starter and able to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while nurturing and sustaining a team culture built on trust, collaboration, flexibility, and humor.
- Commitment to the mission and vision of Pro-Choice Washington, and a deep understanding of the intersectional components of reproductive freedom.
Desired
- Experience developing and implementing public policy, political, and electoral strategies
- Experience designing campaign plans
- Background and community relationships in Western Washington.
- Competency communicating in another language
- Mastery of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), Canva, CRMs, and other platforms.
Work Environment
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds from floor to waist high. Work is primarily performed remotely with occasional in-person meetings and events, including occasional day-long organizing and canvass activities, often outdoors. Half-time position, with some flexibility in hours possible for the right candidate. Occasional evenings and weekend work are likely. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional travel within Washington state and the Pacific Northwest.
