About Pro-Choice Washington Political Action Committee (PAC)
The Pro-Choice Washington Political Action Committee (PAC) helps elect reproductive rights and justice champions at all levels of state and local government. It directs financial contributions and field support in the form of door knocking, phone banking, and texting to candidates endorsed by Pro-Choice Washington and who are aligned with our values and our communities’ needs.
About the Program
This is a critical moment for abortion rights and access in the United States. The recent federal ruling on medication abortion coupled with the rise of abortion restrictions anti-LGBTQIA+ laws across the country have made it clear that the anti-abortion movement will stop at nothing to dismantle reproductive freedom for our communities. These rollbacks of fundamental rights to bodily autonomy underscore how important it is to elect unapologetic, intersectional champions for reproductive freedom who will protect, restore and expand access to abortion and gender affirming care in Washington. If you are ready to get involved with building political power to keep Washington an abortion sanctuary state, please apply for our 2023 Political Action Fellowship.
Pro-Choice Washington seeks a fellow to support our PAC’s candidate endorsement and voter activation work team this spring and summer. This program is designed for fellows to gain exposure to political organizing, electoral campaigns, volunteer management, and issue-based advocacy. The Political Action Fellow will participate in candidate endorsements and membership education around the 2023 municipal and county elections. They will support the PAC board, Deputy Director, and political and organizing team with organizing candidate interview, preparing the Pro-Choice Washington 2023 Voter Guide, and, supporting the organizing team with programming events to support our 2023 campaign priorities. Finally,
Fellows will conduct research and work on a collaborative project that aligns with the fellow’s interests and Pro-Choice Washington’s priorities.
